A poor and fatherless girl residing at Ashraya Nagar Slum, Bangalore completed her 10th grade, but, was unable to continue her education owing to her family’s poor financial situation. She along with Mr. Wesley Navaraj Draviam, a well-wisher approached the Principal of United Christian PU College (UCC), Devanahalli and asked for free education or with fee concession to study PUC. The College Management agreed after receiving a meager support from few well-wishers towards her fee and educated her until 2nd PUC. Thereafter, the college started providing free admissions / subsidized fees to many such poor students living in Devanahalli area.
In due course, the Managing Trustee of the United Christian PU College wanted to wind up the college due to unforeseen reasons. The college Principal Ms. Sreelakshmi and the Administrator Mr. Nagaraj approached Mr. Wesley Navaraj Draviam to help them in running the college. As a result of this, Friends of Indian Poor (FOIP) was formed in March 2018 and the same helped the united Christian PU College to run for few years. From then on, the Friends of Indian Poor (FOIP) has been continuing in educating the orphans, semi orphans and poor, and helping the poor in sicknesses and calamities.
